Hello, Storm Striker players!
We’d like to share the details of the 1.44 update (March 27, 2025).
Overall Balance Adjustment Direction
In version 1.43, we attempted to create a more favorable environment for melee dealers by artificially removing certain crowd control (CC) effects or increasing their cooldowns.
However, as we adjusted the balance in line with this approach, we found that some characters lost core skills that were key to their fun and identity, ultimately reducing their overall appeal.
As a result, rather than continuing to remove CCs artificially, we’ve decided to improve the usability of movement skills for melee characters. This will allow players to use their own skill combinations more freely and naturally evade CC effects.
In the 1.43 patch, we also increased the burst DPS of dealers across the board.
However, this led to situations where players were defeated before they even had a chance to respond, reducing the opportunity for back-and-forth combat.
To address this, we’re reverting the stats to their 1.42 patch values so players can better engage and respond during fights. (For example: when Rei and Lucy's LMB damage was at 105.)
We’ll first explain the changes that were made in the 1.42 patch, followed by the final stat adjustments to be applied.
Shifu
Intent
Following the adjustments to Shifu in version 1.43, the character has re-emerged in the meta.
At the moment, we see this as a positive direction and are planning to apply version 1.43 changes to version 1.42.
However, Shifu’s ultimate in 1.43 had excessively high damage output, often turning a 5v5 into a sudden 4v5 and heavily shifting the flow of team fights.
To address this, we plan to adjust the skill's focus from raw damage to sustained survivability.
Extreme Dragon Fist
Damage: 360 (10 hits) / 360 → 110 (10 hits) / 330

Volf
Intent
As a tank who frequently relies on shields, Volf has struggled with maintaining combat tempo due to an awkward charge mechanic.
To address this, we’ve improved convenience by allowing passion gauge charging even while using a shield.
Additionally, the underperforming skill Fiery Uppercut has received a new passive effect—instant full charge on hit—to give a meaningful boost to Volf's current performance.
Tenacity
Passion gauge can now be charged while the skill is active.
Flame On!’s charge speed is reduced to 50%.

Akira
Intent
Dimensional Slash has been reverted to RMB, as it was in the 2024 version.
With this change, Akira can now be played in two distinct styles: a fast-paced, dash-heavy Decimation build focused on multi-hit lifesteal, or a slower, long-range projectile-based setup.
Additionally, to improve combo fluidity, Battōjutsu can now be reused after completing the LMB → LMB → RMB 3-cycle combo.
Third Eye has once again been updated to grant the Unstoppable effect.

Alice
Intent
Currently, Alice’s LMB attack distance is slower than the default movement speed, which often causes her to fall behind and lose track of the target after the second hit.
With this patch, Alice will now be able to chase targets moving at base speed using just her LMB attacks.

Raki
Intent
Due to Raki's high difficulty of use, we've increased the hitbox size of her basic attack and sped up the casting animation for the first and second hits of Furry Flurry.
This should help reduce the feeling of sluggishness caused by the airtime delay before the final slam after the first two hits.

Rei
Intent
Frost Barrier has been adjusted for smoother usability when used as a survival tool. With this change, both new players and Rei mains will be able to respond more quickly in critical situations by using it more intuitively.
As for Frost Armor, we determined that its long duration was excessively disrupting the timing of enemy attacks, negatively affecting the gameplay experience of melee dealers. To address this, we’ve added a stronger damage reduction to effectively block major attacks, while significantly reducing the duration.

Bernhardt
Intent
To improve responsiveness in crowd control (CC) situations, we’ve adjusted some of Bernhardt's mobility skills by reducing their casting delay or increasing their initial movement distance.
With these changes, CC hit success will now depend more on the players’ sense of spacing—whether you're landing CCs more precisely or dodging them with intention.

Lucy
Intent
Lucy remains a character under close observation.
To bring her pick rate closer to that of Rei, we’ve slightly improved her survivability and reduced the cooldown of Vermilion Void, allowing players to make use of her signature AoE skills more frequently.
Additionally, we’ve increased the projectile speed of Scarlet Execution, enabling skilled players to land it through manual aiming rather than relying solely on auto-targeting.
Lucy will continue to be monitored to ensure she performs on par with Rei depending on the situation.

Intent
In versions 1.42 and 1.43, Electra underperformed due to her mediocre healing and damage output.
To address this, we are shifting her mechanics toward a full-fledged pure healer role.
Path of Pleasure has been changed from triggering on enemy hits to ally hits, allowing players to pre-charge healing resources. With an increase in overall healing output, Electra is now positioned to partially take over the role of Narae as a dedicated support.
Path of Pleasure now charges from ally hits instead of enemy hits.

However, we believe that adding damage reduction could potentially make the skill overly powerful, so we’ll continue to monitor its performance closely.

Previously, Sabio’s performance was balanced evenly between damage and healing (5:5). Moving forward, we aim to reorient him as a more damage-focused support with a 7:3 ratio.
To support this change, we’re restoring one of his core traits—allowing an additional use of Golden Spear of Kukulkan after using Nitro Gliding.

Surrender System Added
Players can now initiate a surrender vote by pressing ESC during a match. However, to prevent misuse, surrender voting will only become available after a certain amount of time has passed.
You’ll find the surrender vote option in the in-game menu opened with the ESC key.
This system has been added to prevent negative experiences for well-intentioned players when others engage in malicious behavior, such as refusing to capture objectives.
Santa Chloe Skin Now Available
The Santa Chloe skin, a transcendent-tier skin that features unique visual effects when equipped, is now available for purchase in the in-game shop.
